The Mechanical Devices ECO COOL is an economical thermal control unit for precise temperature testing of semiconductor devices. It uses direct-contact heating and cooling to regulate the temperature of socketed or soldered devices under test.

The ECO COOL operates across a temperature range of -30°C to +200°C, supporting cold, ambient, and high-temperature semiconductor testing.

The ECO COOL provides cooling performance of 0°C at 200W Tc, making it suitable for testing semiconductor devices with moderate-to-high power dissipation.

The standard ECO COOL uses one thermal head, while the ECO COOL Dual Edition uses two independently controlled heads. Both versions provide direct-contact semiconductor temperature control across a range of -30°C to +200°C.

A thermal head places a customized tip in direct contact with the device under test (DUT). The system transfers heating or cooling directly to the device while its pneumatic actuator maintains stable contact pressure.

Direct-contact temperature forcing heats or cools a semiconductor by placing a temperature-controlled tip directly against its surface. This concentrates thermal control at the DUT without conditioning an entire environmental chamber.

The ECO COOL provides temperature accuracy of ±0.2°C and temperature stability of 0.2°C, supporting consistent and repeatable semiconductor testing.

The ECO COOL supports programmable temperature transition rates of up to 75°C per minute, helping reduce thermal cycling and device test time.

The ECO COOL is available with 55 mm and 75 mm thermal heads. Customized contact tips can accommodate semiconductor packages from approximately 5 mm to 119 mm.

Yes. The contact tip can be customized for different DUT dimensions, package types, sockets, PCB layouts, and thermal requirements.

The system supports:

  • PT100 temperature sensors
  • Thermocouple feedback
  • DUT thermal-diode feedback

Its programmable thermal-feedback loop allows the control method to be matched to the device and test application.

The pneumatic clip-on actuator supports an adjustable contact force of 30 to 350 kgf, helping maintain stable and repeatable thermal contact with the DUT.

Available configuration options include:

  • Pneumatic clip-on actuator
  • Manual actuator
  • Toggle clamp
  • Boom stand
  • Customized fixtures
  • Protective enclosures

Yes. ECO COOL is a self-contained, liquid-free temperature forcing system that does not require an external liquid chiller for normal thermal operation.

Yes. ECO COOL supports ATE, SLT, bench testing, high-reliability testing, and OEM integration. Its Ethernet interface enables remote operation and test automation.

Yes. ECO COOL supports remote control through Ethernet TCP/IP with an RJ-45 connection. A 7-inch LCD touchscreen provides local system operation.

ECO COOL is suitable for:
